Moonachie Has Stood Ready For Service, For the Sky, For Each Other
The Civil Air Patrol is the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force.
For decades, our Moonachie squadron has cultivated leadership, aerospace mastery,
and an unwavering commitment to community service — right here in Bergen County.
We are not merely an organization — we are a family of citizens dedicated to
the ideals of volunteerism, service, and the pursuit of knowledge in the aerospace realm.
The Civil Air Patrol, established in 1941, serves as the civilian auxiliary of the
United States Air Force. Our Moonachie squadron operates under the New Jersey Wing,
contributing to three core missions: aerospace education, cadet programs, and
emergency services.
Whether you are a student seeking leadership development, a professional looking to
apply your skills in service, or a family wanting to make a difference together —

Our Community
More Than a Squadron — A Brotherhood and Sisterhood
Moonachie may be small, but the spirit of our Civil Air Patrol squadron is anything but.
We are neighbors, professionals, educators, and veterans — united by a shared commitment
to something greater than ourselves.
Our cadets gain mentors who invest in their futures. Our senior members find purpose
in hands-on service. Families discover a supportive community that celebrates
achievement and encourages growth at every stage.
We host regular meetings, community events, and outreach programs throughout the year,
building connections that extend well beyond the squadron walls.
